In the last three risk-off episodes (Aug 2024, Oct 2023, Mar 2023), BTC correlated positively with equities and negatively with gold — the opposite of its 'digital gold' narrative. This matters for portfolio construction. BTC is a risk asset with gold-like supply properties. The narratives diverge in the stress test.
