Bitcoin rose 0.43% to $79,767.6 as of 11:47 ET (15:47 GMT) on Saturday, according to Investing.com data, after reaching as high as $82,178.6 on Thursday. The cryptocurrency subsequently retreated as markets reassessed the outlook for U.S. monetary policy.

The move reversed part of the rally sparked a day earlier by dovish comments from Fed Governor Christopher Waller, who said he could support leaving rates unchanged if August inflation data continued to improve. Those comments helped lift Bitcoin to its highest intraday level since May.
